ABHYANGAM THERAPY
Abhyangam the use of specific oils and gentle massage strokes are believed to help balance the body's energy. Promote emotional well being and enhance physical health.
Preparation:
Warm the oil to a comfortable temperature. Prepare the body by ensuring minimal clothing and ideally performing abhyangam in the day time.

*Apply a generous amount of warmed oil to the body. Ensuring your hands glide smoothly.
*Massage in specific direction long stroke on limbs, circular stroke on joints and clockwise strokes on the abdomen.
*Starts with the extremities head, neck, shoulder, arms or feet, toes, ankle, calves.
*Move towards the centre chest, back, stomach.
*Pay special attention to joints and specific areas like the scalp, ears and abdomen.
*The massage should be gentle, smooth and firm.
Abhyanga is traditionally performed in seven postures, sitting, supine, left lateral, prone, right lateral, supine and sitting.
*After the massage oil to absorb for 15 – 20minutes. After that take a warm bath.
